Fire Detection: Standards, Technologies and Operational Reliability

Why life-safety systems require disciplined design, EN 54 compliance and appropriate detector technology.

← Back to Knowledge Center

Overview

Fire detection is the most critical safety application because it relates directly to human life. Compliance with standards such as EN 54 is not optional.

Conventional systems identify zones, while addressable systems identify the exact detector and provide much better diagnostics for larger facilities.

Optical smoke detectors, heat detectors, multi-sensors and aspirating smoke detection systems must be selected according to the space, risk and operational environment.
