Access Control: Security Architecture and Personnel Flow

Managing who enters, where and when through secure readers, controllers and BMS integration.

← Back to Knowledge Center

Overview

Access control is the foundation of physical security for companies, buildings and industrial sites. It manages who may enter, where and when.

Modern systems move from vulnerable Wiegand wiring to OSDP communication, encrypted RFID credentials, biometrics and mobile credentials via NFC or Bluetooth.

When integrated with BMS and fire systems, doors can release during evacuation and HVAC or lighting can follow actual occupancy.
